ask jamelah

Published by jamelah at 8:20 pm under Everything, Me me me

I’m kind of tapped out for ideas, perhaps because I’m still kvelling over my new blowdryer, or perhaps because, uh, sometimes I get tapped out for ideas.  Either way, I don’t really have much to write about today, and judging by the way things are going, I probably won’t have much to write about tomorrow and perhaps not Thursday, either.  But Friday I’m in love.  Let me not get hung up on song lyrics.

So, this may be one of those ideas I’m kind of stealing from Fraulein N, or maybe I’m stealing it from a post on a previous incarnation of LitKicks or maybe not.  Anyway, here’s the deal:  ask me something about me.  Anything.  I will answer.  What kind of shampoo do I use, do I floss regularly, what’s my first memory, why am I such a pretentious book snob, something else, whatever.   I’ll take questions until noon Thursday (Eastern Standard) and will write up my answers on Thursday evening or maybe Friday, depending on how many questions there are and how much thinking I have to do to answer them fairly.  The only thing I ask is that you keep questions within the bounds of basic decency, and other than that, I’m pretty open.

Okay, ask me stuff so I’ll have something to write about.  I’m counting on you.

How do you feel about Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups?

Yes, I second the request for a bad date story, ’cause I’m nosy like that. Also, what’s your dream job?

When you limit us to common decency - chafe, chafe - what are you worried we might ask across that line that you’d be mortified to answer in public? I mean, I’m sure we could come up with something if we worked on it, but what are you worried it would be? Photographs optional. 8)

    Well let’s see…

aha! I got it!! Actually I got a few! there are a few that are dumb, but it gets ya talking!

If there was one thing in your life that you could go back and redo, which would it be? and why?

If you had the choice between learning a new language or visiting a new country which would it be and why?

    What are your religious views?

If you knew your friends husband was cheating, would you tell?

If you had the money, which would you rather buy new shoes for the rest of your life OR a new car every year?

If you had to choose between making jewelry and photography, which would you dedicate your life to pursuing?

So you have such a beautiful name (no pun intended), and I think I remember reading a post here once where you referred to yourself as Arab. So could you elaborate on that a bit more? Anything you’re comfortable with, in relation to you being Arab.

And if that’s too nosy a question, then -
What are your thoughts on gelato, french fries, blue raspberry slurpees, and cranberry juice? (Clearly, my life revolves around food. Also, these are the key points around which I build up prospective friendships.)

If you could turn back the clock, would you be willing to turn it back 7 hours and 15 minutes so Heather could pose her question?

  10. Heatheron 29 Mar 2006 at 7:19 pm

And if the answer was yes then….. if you could go back and re-live any moment or event in your life, what would it be? And….if you were driving down the road and the dj came on the radio with a song dedicated to you by someone you totally dug and who totally dug you, what song would it be?

And if the answer was no, well, piss on you then. I didn’t want to participate in your stupid game anyway.

These 10 questions originally came from a French series, “Bouillon de Culture” hosted by Bernard Pivot. They are probably more familiar to many as the question James Lipton asks at the end of “Inside the Actor’s Studio.”

    01. What is your favorite word?

    02. What is your least favorite word?

    03. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?

    04. What turns you off?

    05. What is your favorite curse word?

    06. What sound or noise do you love?

    07. What sound or noise do you hate?

    08. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

    09. What profession would you not like to do?

    10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

Anything? well, ok then. When are you getting married? Huh? When? I made you the quilt, already! What else are you waiting for? I need some more great grand babies and I’m not gettin’ any younger. Come to think of it, neither are you. So, when, huh? when?
