About the Site
All you could possibly need to know about jamelah.net:
history:
This site was born in 1996 one day when I had nothing better to do. I had an e-mail address (through Great Lakes FreeNet — represent) and a modem (I think it was a 14.4), so, you know, it was time to enter the world of personal homepages. In its first incarnation, the site had a yellow background, a couple of links to Soundgarden sites (and Scott’s Page of Evil, which was hilarious because it railed against the evils of Andie MacDowell, among other pop culture horrors), and some bad poetry. I pretty much forgot about it for a few years, then got back into it. Over the years, it has been home to all sorts of Jamelah randomness, but I started doing something blog-like in 1999 or so. I purchased this domain in the fall of 2002, and switched everything over to its current all-blog-all-the-time format in the winter of 2005. I used to host pictures here, but now I do all of that over at Flickr, because I’m lazy and all of the resizing and thumbnail-making is automated, so yay, Flickr!
design:
I change designs a lot because I have a raging case of chronic redesign-itis. Eventually, I’ll put up a page of past designs (or header graphics or something).
tech notes:
For this current incarnation of jamelah.net, I use WordPress for content management. Typically, I create my own stylesheets in CSS and hand-code my pages in XHTML, but at present, I have to learn a little bit more about PHP before I can do that. So for now it’s a pre-designed template with a few modifications. Eventually, I’ll get it sorted out and make it my own.

If you’d like to have my content delivered to your favorite RSS reader or your e-mail, the do I have the perfect link for you: This Magical Link Right Here. It’s exciting, the way I know just what you’re looking for, isn’t it? I know. Oh, by the way, if you subscribed before August 2006, then you should unsubscribe and resubscribe by clicking on that Magical Link up there, because that’s when I started managing my feed with FeedBurner, which is better than the old feed, really.
copyright & usage:
Unless otherwise noted, jamelah.net, its design, and all images, logos, photographs and writings displayed within are the original creation of Jamelah Earle. All content is licensed under a Creative Commons License. What that means is that you are free to quote me, but you have to give me credit. And if you don’t give me credit, then you are a dirty stealing bastard. Yeah. That pretty much sums it up.
That’s all. Thanks for stopping by.
