Sometimes I get an idea in my head and I have to do it right then. I guess that means I’m impulsive, which is kind of funny, because anybody who has ever been with me in a bookstore knows that I can take over an hour to make a decision. So I’m not impulsive. Except for sometimes. And when those sometimes happen, well, I recommend getting out of my way, because when I am impulsive, I am also incredibly determined. (I usually end up halfway through whatever it is I decided I JUST HAD TO DO RIGHT THEN and think “Maybe I should’ve thought about this a little more first.”)
Tonight I decided to paint the hallway. I had some paint left over from that time when I painted the living room, so, you know, might as well. I’m not sure that after having a completely exhausting day at work (that had a few stretches of “Are you fucking KIDDING ME?” thrown in for good measure), taking on a home improvement project was the best possible idea. Maybe I could’ve just watched TV or something. But here I am, in the middle of the second coat, and there’s no turning back now.
I’d better post this. It’s nearly midnight. And I have painting to do. (Also I have to get up in the morning and go back to work — hurrah, or something — and if I’m up much later I’m just going to love that.)
